1. What is a CIP/TPIN?
CIP/TPIN is a set of access codes with which you can access your web-account on our website –www.birlasunlife.com. With these codes you can perform transactions and view your policy details.
CIP stands for Customer Identification Pin. It is a unique10-digit number similar to a User name.
TPIN stands for Transaction Pin. It is a password consisting of a 4-digit number.

2. What transactions/activities can I perform with the CIP/TPIN number?

You can carry out a host of transactions with the CIP/TPIN at the click of a button. Some of the transactions that you can perform are:

  • Remit premiums
  • Request for a fund switch/premium redirection
  • Post queries online
  • Update your Personal/ Policy Details
  • Request address change
    And many more..

3. Who is eligible for a CIP/TPIN?
CIP/TPIN is provided to all policy owners as well as to the Agency Managers/Advisors/Corporate agents.

4. Can an insured, who is him/herself not the policy owner, be allotted a CIP/TPIN?
No. The allotment is restricted to the above stated user groups.

5. How can I obtain a CIP/TPIN ?
Very simple really.. For you to instantly access your web-account, we have enabled the generation of your access codes online. All you need to do is, visit our website -www.birlasunlife.com, complete the verification process and the access codes would be delivered to your registered email id instantly.

7. In case, one has multiple policies, would multiple CIP/TPIN numbers be required?
No, as an Individual Life Insurance policy owner, you require just one CIP/TPIN to access all your policies. However, in case you possess group policies also with us, the access codes for viewing those would be distinct from your Individual Life Insurance policy CIP/TPIN access codes.

8. What if I forget my TPIN number?
Not to worry.. You can re-generate the same instantly by going through the online verification process again

9. How many times can I generate my CIP/TPIN online?
As many times as you want.. However on every generation your 4 digit TPIN would change. Your CIP number, however, remains the same throughout your association with us.

10. Can I change my TPIN? If so, how many times?
Of course you can!  You can change your TPIN any number of times to a 4-digit number that you find convenient to remember.

11. Does the CIP/TPIN expire after a passage of a certain period?
Not at all. It is valid till the time you change it.
